What are some things we should do prior to starting school in order to afford ourselves a great season?
1.Officers
For newly elected officers, it would be a good idea to meet at least once before summer or winter break to gather each other's vacation plans (e.g., when person A or B will return to school). It is also a good idea to discuss plans for the first three months of school.
2. Reservations
Make sure you reserve a place and time for your practices. Usually schools start taking reservation requests in the middle of summer. Check with your administration regarding when you may submit such requests.
3. Advertising
During the first month of school, every college or university has orientation and events for freshman and returning students. Ask your administrators about having a table at such events or
4. Budget and Club Dues
How much money are you left with from last year? Did you end with a surplus or a deficit of funds? How much money do you anticipate receiving from your school? How much money do you anticipate spending on events, traveling, equipment, etc.?
5. Events
Below are some events to plan for every quarter or semester:
i. Promotion Testing (our recommendation: at least once per quarter/semester)
ii. Tournaments (our recommendation: no more than once per quarter/semester)
iii. Joint practices or exhibition meets with other colleges/universities (our recommendation: at least once per quarter/semester)
iv. Social events, such as pizza parties, movies nights, beach picnic (our recommendation: at least once per month)
Conclusion:
Plan ahead as soon as possible, sooner the better. Prioritize your tasks: practice times first, events second, advertising third.

- Plan ahead
- Know who is doing what
- Have deadlines and due dates for tasks
